AEP endowment honors long-time CEO Akins
To honor former CEO and President Nicholas “Nick” Akins, American Electric Power (AEP) has established the Nicholas K. Akins Eminent Scholar Chair in Engineering within Louisiana Tech University’s College of Engineering and Science.
Mills mentors high school student focused on TMJD research
Dr. David K. Mills, a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech University, has been appointed to the International Research Institute of North Carolina (IRI) faculty at the rank of Professor. Mills’s primary responsibility is virtually mentoring IRI high school students in a research project leading to a peer-reviewed publication.

Marbury Ethics Lecture to feature award-winning documentarian Gregory Kallenberg
Gregory Kallenberg, an award-winning film director and producer, will headline the 16th annual William Ardis Marbury Jr. and Virginia Lomax Marbury Lecture Series at 10 a.m. Jan. 24. As part of the lecture, Kallenberg will screen episodes of his latest short film series, Rational Middle: Net Zero. A question-and-answer session will follow that focuses on ethical business leadership related to energy and the attainment of net zero.
Matthews named Trenchless Technology Person of the Year
Trenchless Technology magazine has named Dr. John Matthews, Director of Louisiana Tech University’s Trenchless Technology Center (TTC), the 2023 Trenchless Technology Person of the Year for his achievements and leadership in trenchless technology.
