Doctoral student earns NSA scholarship to complete cybersecurity research
Louisiana Tech University doctoral student and Haughton native Dakota Digilormo has earned a National Centers Academic Excellence (NCAE-C) Cybersecurity Ph.D. Scholarship from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to complete his studies in Cyberspace Engineering.

Create with VR grant awarded to School of Design
Jerry Berg, Assistant Professor in the School of Design at Louisiana Tech University, has recently been awarded the Create with VR Grant from Unity and Meta Immersive Learning. This grant will allow Louisiana Tech to provide innovative teaching and learning opportunities in the School of Design by placing virtual reality (VR) technology and training in the hands of educators and students.

Louisiana Tech sees record increase in licensing revenue
Louisiana Tech University experienced a 61% increase in revenues from licensing in the 2021-22 fiscal year. Revenues from trademarks – the University’s intellectual property owned through the University Foundation – experienced record growth in the past year despite challenges from supply chain issues and continued nationwide recovery from the effects of COVID-19.

Business Data Analytics MBA concentration introduced at Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business is now accepting applications for a newly developed Master of Business Administration (MBA) concentration in Business Data Analytics. The 36-hour program will be offered as part of the Traditional MBA, with courses taking place in-person.
Doctoral student develops award-winning ohmic curing technique for making pipes
Engineering Materials and Infrastucture Systems doctoral student and member of the Louisiana Tech University chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) Stephen Gordon has developed an “Ohmic Curing Technique for GPC Pipe” to create pipes for underground construction from low carbon emission geopolymer materials.

Bossier Chamber names Tech a Military Community Champion
Louisiana Tech University has been named a Military Community Champion by the Bossier Chamber of Commerce for being “committed to the growth of our community by investing in our military, their families, and our veterans.”

Puljak appointed new Dean for College of Liberal Arts
This fall quarter, Louisiana Tech University will welcome a new Dean with a familiar name to the College of Liberal Arts (COLA). Karl Puljak, current Director of the School of Design, has been named the College’s new Dean. His tenure will begin Sept. 2.

Tech’s Forestry Club, Wildlife Society excel in regional conclaves
The Louisiana Tech Student Chapter of The Society of American Foresters was a top finisher in several competitions during the 2022 Association of Southern Forestry Clubs Conclave in Crossville, Tennessee, and the University’s Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society excelled at the Southeastern Student Wildlife Conclave in North Carolina.

Kaczvinsky to keynote Summer Commencement
Dr. Donald P. Kaczvinsky, retiring dean of Louisiana Tech’s College of Liberal Arts, will serve as keynote speaker for the University’s summer commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in the Thomas Assembly Center on the Tech campus.
