Teacher Recruitment Day 2020 planned April 2 in DAC
School district representatives and companies from the education industry both in state and out will be on Louisiana Tech’s campus for Teacher Recruitment Day 2020, from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, April 2, in the Davison Athletics Complex.

Renowned researcher, surgeon to speak Friday at President’s Leadership Colloquium
The next lecture in the President’s Leadership Colloquium will feature Dr. Kevin Stone of the Stone Research Foundation, who will speak from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 in Wyly Auditorium.

Chair of the ULS Board of Supervisors to give Winter Commencement Address
Mark E. Romero, Chairman of the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and Executive Vice President of Brown & Brown Gulf States, will serve as the keynote speaker for the University’s Winter Commencement Ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Thomas Assembly Center on the Ruston campus.

Black History Month Commemoration Event to feature ‘The Faces of Slavery’ presentation
The Louisiana Tech Department of History’s Black History Month commemoration speaker event will feature Cultural Heritage Tourism Entrepreneur Joseph Dunn, who will give a presentation titled “The Faces of Slavery: Tourism beyond the Myths of the American South on a Louisiana Creole Plantation,” at 6:30 pm. Monday, Feb. 17, in University Hall Auditorium.

For the seventh consecutive year, Louisiana Tech University has been named a Military Friendly School, earning the 2020-21 Military Friendly® designation from Victory Media.

Tech’s ‘Student Scholars’ help educate community about Parkinson disease
Lauren Tompkins, a sophomore nursing student, serves as one of two Student Scholars of the Parkinson Resource Center (PRC) on Louisiana Tech’s campus. As a Student Scholar, Tompkins has the privilege of working with the Ruston community and patients living with Parkinson’s disease, or PD.

Master’s in Computer Science ranked as a top 2020 program
Louisiana Tech University’s Master of Science in Computer Science has been ranked as a top 2020 program by the TFE Times. It is the top ranked master’s degree in computer science in Louisiana and one of only two programs in the state to make the list.

Student entrepreneurs win $3,250 in Won in One idea pitch
Four Louisiana Tech student entrepreneurs won five awards and $3,250 in prize money in Louisiana Tech’s recent Won in One idea pitch competition presented by the University’s Technology Business Development Center.
