Louisiana Tech meets Forever Loyal campaign goal
Louisiana Tech University has reached its Forever Loyal campaign goal, raising more than $125 million to support University initiatives. The campaign will continue through the year of celebrations for the University’s 125th anniversary.

Artistic alum celebrates 50-year class reunion and puts on a show
Jim Wilson, who earned a BS in Commercial Art with additional studies in the biological sciences in 1969 at Tech and a MS from the Medical College of Georgia in 1974, will have an exhibit in Marbury Alumni House beginning Wednesday and running through Homecoming Saturday and most of November. The show will feature his artwork from the time he was a student through his career as a medical illustrator.

Waggonner Center to present Chief Security Officer of Homeland Security Nov. 8
The Waggonner Center for Civic Engagement and Public Policy will sponsor a presentation by Richard McComb, Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since the spring of 2016, at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in University Hall Auditorium, Room 134.

The late Hall of Famer O.K. ‘Buddy’ Davis still writing happy endings
The estate of Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Famer O.K. “Buddy” Davis has donated $100,000 to Tech Athletics to be used as the athletic department determines; a part of the donation will complete the O.K. “Buddy” Davis Endowed Scholarship that began in July.

Century Next gift to inspire next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators
Century Next Bank has pledged a multi-year gift totaling $125,000 to support innovation and entrepreneurship at Louisiana Tech University. Commemorating the University’s 125th anniversary, the gift will help propel Louisiana Tech’s students and faculty forward in their research and entrepreneurial initiatives.

Biomedical Engineering team publishes research on metal-organic biohybrids
Louisiana Tech University Biomedical Engineering and Molecular Science and Nanotechnology professors, students and alumni have published a paper on the discovery of metals-based organic biohybrids and their use in drug delivery.

Tech’s oldest student honored for her example and inspiration
Wednesday in the conference room on the 16th Floor of Wyly Tower, Tech’s oldest student received another surprise: Tech President Dr. Les Guice gave the “senior” student everyone calls “Mrs. Cee Cee” a framed proclamation for providing “great inspiration and motivation to her classmates and instructors and to the Kinesiology students” and for being a living illustration of the Tenets of Tech.

Project creates career paths for the STEM workforce
Louisiana Tech University is collaborating with Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) to promote science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) technology career pathways for students from seven high schools in North Louisiana.
