Turners endow scholarship to impact work on Grand Challenges
Turner’s $100,000 endowment will help several students complete their education and make an impact in health and wellness, one of the focus areas for Louisiana Tech programs and research aimed at finding solutions for this Grand Challenges in our nation and region.
Student Academy of Audiology to provide hearing tests at Arbor & Terrace
In cooperation with both associate professor of audiology and SAA chapter sponsor Dr. Steve Madix and Advanced Audiology & Hearing Aids of Ruston’s Dr. Jerrilyn Turner Frasier, the Tech SAA chapter planned and will take part in a collaborative event with The Arbor Assisted Living Retirement Community of Ruston and The Terrace of Ruston, a special community devoted to individuals with early-to-middle stages of Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related disorders.

Epidemiologist to speak at School of Agricultural Science and Forestry Seminar
Herpetologist, epidemiologist, and wildlife veterinarian Dr. Mark Mitchell will speak on “Travels and Tribulations of a Wildlife Epidemiologist” at the Louisiana Tech School of Agricultural Sciences & Forestry Fall quarter South Campus Seminar Series, 6-9 pm Monday, October 14 at Hoogland Auditorium in Lomax Hall.

CIS undergrad represents Tech at Congressional Round Table
Kylie Kalinowski, a computer information systems major at Louisiana Tech and prospective member of its Class of 2022, participated as a panelist at a Congressional Round Table event in Washington, D.C. recently that showcased both the Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program (CETAP) and the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC) as a thought leader in K-12 Cybersecurity Education.

Connelly to read from new book
The Louisiana Tech English Department will present a book reading and signing by visiting author Neil Connelly at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in G. T. Madison Hall, Room 105. The public reading from his latest young adult novel, Brawler, will be followed by a book signing.
