Dancing with the stars: Engineering grad takes Tech experience to NASA
Until late in her senior year at Caddo Parish Magnet High in Shreveport, Elizabeth Mitchell Taylor was focused on becoming a professional dancer.
But late in the game, she decided to keep dance as a hobby only and, since she was good at math and science, pursue engineering instead. Which is why today she is dancing with the stars, working as an industrial engineer for NASA, developing the software for the space station being designed to orbit the moon.

Cutts honor Petroleum Engineering professor with donation to help rebuild soccer complex
Louisiana Tech graduate Tim Cutt, ’83-Petroleum Engineering, and his wife Carolyn recently donated $250,000 in honor of former Petroleum Engineering professor Dr. Robert Caruthers to assist in rebuilding the Lady Techster soccer complex, which was one of five Louisiana Tech Athletics facilities damaged or destroyed during the April 25 tornado.
