The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of the nine fraternities at Louisiana Tech University. The Council is composed of delegates from each of the fraternities on campus and of an executive council, which is voted upon by the delegates. The council promotes cooperation among member fraternities and positive relations between the university and fraternity system. It is responsible for both establishing and enforcing standards for membership of fraternities of the council. Also, the IFC is responsible for running and regulating men’s formal rush.

A fraternity is an organization that builds men into leaders and fosters friendships that will last a lifetime. The men you meet in the Greek system will be the same men that will serve as groomsmen in your wedding and pallbearers in your funeral. Besides the new friendships that a fraternity has to offer, you will encounter new experiences such as fundraising for philanthropies, participating in community service, and learning about career development. You will gain connections with people who could help you in your future career. By using the network of brothers that fraternities possess, your options are endless. You will have the extra edge another applicant does not by being part of fraternity life.

Give Greek Life an opportunity to show you what it has to offer. Even if you decide that being a Greek is not for you, you still will have made friendships that will last throughout your college career.
