CITI Export Control Web-Based Training Modules

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) at the University of Miami web-based export control training series consists of 4 modules that provide a basic overview of US export controls laws, and additional modules that focus on Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

For a description of the modules, download the Export Control Catalog.

Export Control training for investigators and staff members is an essential aspect of ensuring compliance with federal requirements.

At a minimum all faculty researchers are required to complete the U.S. Export Control Regulations: General Overview module on a yearly basis. Any faculty/staff involved in EAR or ITAR restricted projects are required to also complete the EAR and/or ITAR supplemental modules annually.

To access the modules, go to the CITI Program website and if you are not already a registered user, first register under your name. Then you will be able to access the training modules by first clicking on the “Louisiana Tech University Courses” menu item. Then choose “CITI Export Controls Course” to bring up the modules. Select the appropriate module.
