For our guests with disabilities, there is limited reserved parking at the top of the hill on the Alabama Avenue side entrance next to the Thomas Assembly Center. When parking spaces fill, drivers should drop off the disabled guest at the entrance, then find a parking space in other parking areas. Only vehicles with the appropriate handicapped tags will be allowed to park in this area. Vehicles without appropriate tags may drop off and pick up a handicapped guest, but will not be allowed to park in this lot.
Access at this point is to the main concourse level of the Assembly Center, fully accessible by wheelchair.
There will be uniformed officers of the Louisiana Tech University Campus Police, the Ruston Police Department, and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department available for assistance.
Seating for guests with disabilities
Guest seating in the Thomas Assembly Center will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The Assembly Center will open approximately 60 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony and we recommend that our guests with disabilities arrive early.
Inside the center at the main concourse level, there are designated spaces for wheelchairs located around the main level. There is a row of seats immediately in front of the wheelchair spaces for immediate family members accompanying a guest with a disability. These rows are also reserved for those unable to ascend/descend stairs, so not all family members will be able to sit immediately in front of or next to the disabled member. Look for the signs and if necessary, seek assistance from one of the ushers.
For safety purposes, guests are not allowed on the Assembly Center floor or in the college assembly areas before or during the ceremony.
