INSTITUTE FOR MICROMANUFACTURING
Institute for Micromanufacturing
The Institute for Micromanufacturing (IfM) is a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment focused on innovations in multiscale structures, devices, and systems. IfM provides education and training to the next generation of scientists and engineers, and a broad range of services to academic and industrial users. The research thrusts of IfM, supported by current capabilities and intellectual capital in micro- and nano-scale fabrication, materials characterization, and computational modeling are:
- Energy & Environmental Technologies
- Advanced Materials and Manufacturing
- Bionanotechnologies
The Institute consists of an interdisciplinary team of faculty and staff housed in a 41,000 sq. ft. building, designed specifically for the research and development of micro/nanoscale technologies and systems. The R & D complex includes laboratory facilities with extensive micro- and nano-fabrication capabilities, and a comprehensive set of measurement and characterization tools, as well as modeling and simulation capabilities.
