Graduate School

Graduate Programs

Five academic colleges have responsibility for supervising degree program requirements and determining program specific admission criteria that can be more selective or restrictive than the minimum admission standards established by the GrClockaduate Council for the University. Admission deadlines may vary by degree program. Each student is responsible for becoming knowledgeable of Graduate School policies and procedures and any specific program requirements. Students are encouraged to contact individual colleges for additional information.

College of Applied & Natural Sciences

Master's degrees are offered in Biology, Molecular Science & Nanotechnology, Health Informatics, Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as graduate certificates in Rural Development and Dietetics. An interdisciplinary PhD in Molecular Science & Nanotechnology has been offered since Fall 2012. 

College of Business

A doctoral degree is offered in six concentrations of Business Administration. A master's degree is offered in ten concentrations of Business Administration including Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Information Assurance, Innovation, Management, Marketing, Telecommunications,  and Quantitative Analysis. Students may also choose to pursue a master's in Professional Accountancy. Also available is a graduate certificate in Information Assurance emphasizing cyber security and disaster recovery.

College of Education

Doctoral degrees are offered in Educational Leadership, Counseling Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Master's degrees are offered in various areas of teaching in early childhood, elementary, middle school, and secondary education. Also, many teaching certification areas are available for professional development.  Master's degrees are offered in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Counseling & Guidance, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Kinesiology. An interdisciplinary graduate certificate in the Dynamics of Domestic Violence is especially valuable to those employed in the Social Work areas. A new Human Services concentration area is being offered under the Counseling & Guidance master's program.  Applicants should contact departments for information on the concentrations available in each of the degree programs. 

College of Engineering & Science

An interdisciplinary PhD program is offered in Molecular Science & Nanotechnology beginning in Fall 2012.  Currently, there are four doctoral degree programs and seven master's level programs  available with several being interdisciplinary programs. Five concentrations have been added to the doctoral program in Engineering. Interest in the doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering  remains strong. Interdisciplinary master's degrees are offered in Engineering & Technology Management, Microsystems Engineering, Molecular Science and Nanotechnology, and Engineering (seven concentrations). Also, master's degrees are available in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Applied Physics. A graduate certificate offered in Communication Systems remains a popular selection for those in the telecommunication industry.

College of Liberal Arts

The doctoral degree in Audiology has quickly developed into a top quality program. There are seven master's programs offered in architecture, art, history, English, speech, theater and speech pathology. Several areas of concentrations are available and applicants should contact the college for more information. A graduate certificate in Technical Writing & Communication is another popular choice.
