KARATE

The Louisiana Tech Karate Team is a sports club program that focuses on competitive martial arts. Team members train in Tae Kwon Do or Korean Karate and participate in points sparring tournaments hosted by the United States Karate Alliance. The team also teaches practical self defense techniques and emphasizes the development of physical fitness. Members range in experience level from white belts (beginners) to black belts. All members have the opportunity to advance in rank. Our team trains twice weekly at the Ruston Parks and Recreation department located on James Street at 6:30 P.M. Mondays and Wednesdays. We suggest that students who are interested in joining enroll in the Kinesiology 170 beginning karate class. This class is worth 2 credit hours and is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M.
