Lactation Room
Prescott Memorial Library Room 336 is a private space reserved solely to meet the needs of nursing parents. In compliance with La. Rev. Stat. Sect. 17:221.8, the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers Act (Consolidated Appropriations Act 2023) and Title IX, it is available to visitors, Louisiana Tech University students, faculty or staff and their infants on a first-come-first-served basis during the hours when the Library is open.
The room is furnished with a table and chair, a lounge chair, a rolling table, a storage cabinet, a refrigerator, lockers and power outlets.
The room is kept locked. Its key must be borrowed from and returned to the Circulation Desk on the Main Floor (2nd Floor) by the Library’s entrance. Please knock before entering the room.
Nursing parents are responsible
- for providing their own breast pumps
- for providing their own storage containers
- for keeping the Lactation Room clean for the next user.
