Career Assessments

  1. Focus2Career is an online, self-guided, interactive program designed to help students explore careers and majors at Louisiana Tech University which are complementary to their individual values, interests, skills, and personality.

Occupational Information

  • O*Net Online: a data base that includes information on work tasks, knowledge required, abilities, work activities, interests, work needs, related occupations, earnings and outlook on hundreds of This database is frequently updated and maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor.
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook: The OOH can help you find career information on duties, education and training, pay, and outlook for hundreds of occupations. This database is frequently updated and maintained by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Resume Tips & Quinncia

Your resume is your first opportunity to showcase your education, relevant experiences, skills, and more to an employer. It’s important to know what employers want on the resume and how they are reviewing your documents. With this in mind, the Career Center offers in-person and online services for getting your resume reviewed.

    Wednesdays 2-5p

  2. Online resume reviews (available 24/7) – Check out Quinncia!
    DISCLOSURE: Quinncia reviews and analyzes student resumes. Students at LATech will be graded against each other within our platform. For our students to have the best possible outcome, Quinncia is for student use only. If a faculty member or alumni with a lot of skills and experience uploads their resume it will skew the scoring for our current students. Faculty can request advisor accounts if a curricular activity involving Quinncia has been added to a syllabus and discussed and approved with the Career Center. At this time Quinncia is not available as an alumni resource. Quinncia is for students ONLY. For faculty/staff accounts, please contact Career Center directly at CareerCenter@LATech.edu.

Interview Preparation with Big Interview

The Career Center provides each student with access to an interview training system called Big Interview. Here, students can practice responding to interview questions. The system allows you to record yourself and watch your play back as well as provides curriculum to teach you how to complete a successful interview! Register now to get started:

  1. Go to https://latech.biginterview.com/ and click “Register”.
  2. Complete registration process.
  3. You’ll then receive a confirmation email at your SCHOOL email address. Click “Verify” in the email, and you’ll be able to start using Big Interview.

Access for Alumni is free as well. Reach out for an exclusive Organization Code and the alumni access portal by emailing CareerCenter@LATech.edu.
