American Chemical Society
Purpose
The American Chemical Society is an on-campus organization striving to encourage scientific thought and reasoning. The goal of ACS is to nurture the future generations of chemists, through science-related activities on campus and in the community as well as chemistry tutoring. We make a conscious effort, daily, to spread an appreciation for science and interest in chemistry.
Membership requirements
To be considered for membership, a student must be pursuing a major, or minor, in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a qualifying science degree. For a different degree to qualify, the curriculum requirements must contain chemistry course (s) after the completion of General Chemistry, such as Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, etc.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
