Black Student Union
Purpose
The purpose of Black Student Union at Louisiana Tech University is to enlighten, empower, educate, and entertain students with an emphasis on the African-American perspective. We seek to edify ourselves first and as a result, the larger Tech community. Our edification is done in order to promote awareness, while sparking action and igniting change for a more inclusive and embracing multicultural community.
Membership requirements
A member of BSU must be in good standing with the university and currently enrolled at Louisiana Tech University. Membership in Black Student Union is open without restriction to race, creed, gender, or national origin. For a student to hold an executive position, they must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. A student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 for an apprenticeship position.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
Meeting times and location
Weekly meetings on Mondays at 6:00pm in Davison Hall 213
