Student Organizations

Purpose

The purpose of this organization is to provide Louisiana Tech students with an opportunity to enjoy mountain bike riding with other students. It will be open to anyone and everyone who has a bike and would like to learn/ ride with others who enjoy this sport. The organization’s intention is to help influence a well balanced lifestyle with physical activity and social encouragement in a manner that is appropriate for everyone. LA Tech Mountain Bike club will uphold and abide by the rules and regulations of Louisiana Tech University. No breaking of the Honor Code will be permitted. Hazing, in any form, is strictly prohibited by Louisiana Tech University and will not be allowed by this organization or its individual members and we will educate our members on the definitions of hazing, the possible consequences for committing hazing, the laws regarding hazing, and the negative effects of hazing.

Membership requirements

1. All that have been members for at-least 1 quarter are allowed to participate in Election for any position. 2. Elections will be held during the spring quarter before the beginning of the next school year and conducted by a member majority vote. 3. The founders of the club will hold positions of president and vice president until graduated from Louisiana Tech University. 4. Elections will be held by allowing each member at least at 2-minute speech during election meeting. First members will vote on the president for the following term. Then vice president, Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Chair. 5. Voting Procedure will follow Robert’s Rule of Order 6. New officer position will not be held until the following school year takes place.

* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.

Monthly meetings on the first Mondays at 5:30 in Hideaway Park
