Muslim Student Association
Purpose
The Muslim Student Association of Louisiana Tech University seeks to bring about better understanding of Islam as a religion and disclaim any myths or misconceptions about Islam or Muslims. It also aims to bring together Muslims to expand their knowledge about and improve on their faithaccording to the Qur'an and Sunnah. Muslim Student Association will create an environment on campus that will foster the development and growth of the diverse Muslim community at Louisiana Tech University and thus will support the mission of the University to create a supportive and diverse student community. This Organization will sponsor programming and events that positively contribute to the development of Muslims students on campus, this may include lectures, panel discussions , halaqas (Islamic discussion groups) as well as social events. This Organization will also act as a resource to the whole campus community and represent Islam in the best possible manner. A major objective of this organization is to actively engage both Muslims and non-Muslims in a portrayal of the message of Islam as completely and accurately as possible.
Membership requirements
All members shall be enrolled LATECH students who are in good academic and disciplinary standing. All members shall abide by the constitutional policies and work toward the common goal of the Organization.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
Meeting times and location
General body meetings weekly on Friday 5:30pm at Centennial Plaza
