National Pan-Hellenic Council
Purpose
The purpose of the NPHC is to initiate cooperative actions, maintain and oversee programs, activities, matter of mutual concern and serve as a united voice of representation for all affiliate fraternities and sororities. The purpose of this organization shall be: A. To serve as the official voice of NPHC fraternities and sororities at Louisiana Tech University B. To provide a medium of exchange for ideas and needed assistance among the organizations: fraternities and sororities, C. To ensure longevity and viability amongst NPHC fraternities and sororities at Louisiana Tech University. D. To recruit and retain African-American students at Louisiana Tech University. E. To maintain the historical significance and integrity of NPHC fraternities and sororities at Louisiana Tech University.
Membership requirements
Membership in NPHC shall include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and any other member organization of the NPHC as may, from time to time, be granted membership. No other organization shall have the right to sit on, or have a voice in, NPHC, and may not be considered for membership on the local level. However, every Member Organization shall have the right to sit on and have a voice in NPHC if the Member Organization is University recognized.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
