Tau Beta Pi
Purpose
The purpose of Tau Beta Pi is to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering college.
Membership requirements
Members of Tau Beta Pi Gamma Chapter shall continue to uphold the principles, esprit de corps, and ideals of The Tau Beta Pi Association, to advance the causes of the engineering profession, and to be of service to local members of the Association and to the membership of neighboring collegiate chapters. Members will be composed of undergraduates, graduates, and alumni in the field of engineering. All voting members and officers must be enrolled at Louisiana Tech University. Membership of Tau Beta Pi is open without restriction as to race, creed, sex, or national origin. Active members shall be members in good standing, elected, and inducted as prescribed in the National bylaws. To be considered an active member the student must be within the top fifth of the senior class or top eighth of the junior class.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
