Qualifying for Financial Aid
To receive aid from any federal student aid programs, you must meet the following criteria:
- File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Demonstrate financial need, except for some loan programs.
- Have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate or complete a state-approved home study program.
- Enroll in an eligible program as a regular student seeking a degree or certificate.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Have a valid Social Security Number.
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by Louisiana Tech University.
- Certify that you will use federal student aid only for educational purposes.
- Certify that you are not in default on a federal student loan and that you do not owe money on a federal grant.
- Submit all required documents to the appropriate agency or Louisiana Tech University.
- Register (or have registered) with Selective Service if you're a male between 18 and 26.
- Meet the Drug Conviction Eligibility Requirements.
