If you wish to apply for a grant through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), your tribe should be contacted for the application and need analysis forms. The need analysis form along with a copy of your application should be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) for completion. The need analysis form will be completed and forwarded to your tribe once you have completed the FAFSA and have been awarded aid by the University.

OSFA will recommend a funding amount to your tribe. The final awarding decision will be subject to the approval of the tribe. Once your BIA application has been approved, the tribe will send a check to the OSFA when classes begin. You will be notified when your check has arrived.
