Do I have to reapply for financial aid each year?
If you applied for federal student aid electronically in the current year, you'll receive a reminder, either through regular mail or e-mail (depending on whether you provided your e-mail address to the federal processor) that it's time for you to reapply. The reminder will include your PIN, which you'll use to go online to complete your Renewal FAFSA on the Web and sign it electronically. The Renewal FAFSA on the Web is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

No, they will not transfer automatically. You should review the transfer information on our website for instructions on applying for financial aid as a transfer student. Transferring to and from a quarter school to a semester school has some complications with regards to financial aid. Please discuss with a counselor before you transfer. We recommend you insure that your FAFSA is updated with our school code (002008).
What types of federal financial aid are available?
Federal student financial aid available at Louisiana Tech University consists of the Pell Grant, Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG), SMART Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Federal Work-Study Program, Perkins Loan Program and the Federal Direct Loan Program (DLP) that contains Stafford Loans and Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) and Graduate Students.
How soon do students need to turn in their information in order to receive funds for the following quarter?
Applicants should submit the completed application and any supporting papers so that they have a complete file by May 15 for the following Fall quarter. Applicants for later quarters in the award year should have a complete file at least 30 days prior to the fee payment deadline.
