Women in Architecture
Purpose
The mission of the Women in Architecture (WIA) Committee is to increase the viability and visibility of women in architecture and in the related design and construction industries Women in Architecture (WIA) is a non-profit, student-led organization focused on empowering students in architecture and design programs through self-growth, networking, and community.
Membership requirements
Members shall not demonstrate any acts of discrimination because of age, citizenship, color, disability, gender, race, religion, national origin, political affiliation, or sexual orientation. Members shall maintain a passing grade point average and comply with the school’s academic regulations. Any member who meets WIA criteria and is in good standing with the National Organization shall be admitted to membership in thechapter. National WIA student members must furnish WIA with any changes of address as they occur. Members shall be free from academic or social probation. Each member shall be entitled to one vote at meetings. Transfer from one chapter to another is automatic as long as that member remains in good standing with the National Organization. The Louisiana Tech University Chapter Dues are $5.00 per year. Board members can miss no more than 25% of all meetings, with extenuating circumstances. The only change to the GPA rules is that 1st years must maintain a 2.0 and ALL other students must maintain a 2.5.
* All student organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for general membership and 2.5 for Executive Officers.
Meeting times and location
Monthly meetings on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Hale 318
